We are really pleased that the Alzheimer’s Society has been in touch with us, and two of the people working for the Horsham branch, Tim and Dawn, have been down to see the site and some of the activities going on. They are very interested in bringing some people from their “Horsham Rusty Brains” group to use some of our facilities, under supervision. Before this happens, Tim and Dawn will be running a “Becoming a Dementia Friend” session for any of our members who are interested to find out more about dementia, how people are affected, and how we, as an organisation – and as a wider society – can support people suffering. Everyone is very welcome to attend.
One session will be at midday on Tuesday 28th August, and the repeat session will be on Tuesday 18 September for those unable to attend the first. Location will be at the Shipley site, in the Clubhouse and the time will be midday. Hopefully some of the walking footballers will be able to stay on after their morning game, some of the petanquers may be able to join, and some from the Men’s Shed. Anyone from the Vets Football team is also very welcome to come if they can.
Any questions, please let us know.
